WHAT ARE WE LEARNING THIS WEEK?
Sight Words: This week we are reviewing our tricky W words - WENT, WHEN, WHAT, WAS, WANT. Please continue to practice all sight words that we have learned in the first trimester.
Letter Team: GE/GI (the soft sound of G which sounds like J, like in GENTLE and GIANT).
We will read many books about Thanksgiving as we learn the history of the first Thanksgiving. We will continue to read our paper books and books from our class library. Students will continue to work on flashcards, sounds, sight words, and paper books. We will be sending ALL paper books home on Thursday to KEEP AT HOME. After the Thanksgiving break, we will begin our leveled guided reading groups.
We will continue to work on writing personal narrative stories. We are learning to extend our sentences and add details.
We will play fun Thanksgiving themed math games!
We are practicing our class rules and learning how to be prepared students at school.
At ILCS this year, we are ROARING. The acronym ROAR stands for Respect self, others, and property, Own your actions, Act safely, and Rise to servant leadership.
