We will read many books about pumpkins and fun stories about Halloween. We will practice all of our reading strategies learned so far. We will continue to read our paper books and books from our class library. Students will continue to work on flashcards, sounds, sight words, and paper books. Please remember to bring your book bags back to school EVERY DAY with your child's books inside of them! This is the only item that goes back and forth to and from school each day. (Unless the book has a "star" on the front cover- then it goes into your "At-Home Book Box".)
This week, we will write facts that we are learning about pumpkins. We will also continue to write personal narrative stories - we are learning to write stories from our lives in three sentences, adding details.
This week, I will assess each student on counting, numbers, number sense, and shapes. We will also play fun counting and addition games.
We are practicing our class rules and learning how to be prepared students at school.
At ILCS this year, we are ROARING. The acronym ROAR stands for Respect self, others, and property, Own your actions, Act safely, and Rise to servant leadership.
